MIXING EPS, EPP AND ARCEL BACK INTO THE PRODUCTION AGAIN
To optimize the use of recycled material it is very important to have a good product which can be obtained with the KBM recycling systems. Another very important thing is to have a good mixing which can increase the use of recycled material even further:

STYROMIX
The KBM STYROMIX System is designed to obtain a more accurate metering and mixing of recycled EPS or EPP materials to the new EPS or EPP beads, directly before each individual moulding machine (mounted on or close to each machine). The KBM STYROMETER System is available for the EPS block industry.
The STYROMIX System is suitable for granulated and dustextracted materials from the MINI, MAXI or JUMBO recycling systems. Since the metering/mixing takes place directly before the materials reach the hopper on the moulding machines, the demixing of the mixture is minimized or even eliminated compared to mixing after the preexpander.
The ratio of the recycled material to the new beads is from 0 % to 99 % in steps of 1 %.
The STYROMIX 1 system has an individual control panel, while the STYROMIX 10 & 30 systems have central control panels for 10, respectively 30 units to facilitate 10, respectively 30 moulding machines.
The vacuum to the systems, to suck the material from the storage silos to the moulding machines, is to be provided from the customers existing vacuumsystem.
The operation of all systems is very simple to control from the control panels.
The KBM STYROMETER System is designed to meter and mix the recycled (e.g. from the KBM MINI, MAXI or JUMBO recycling systems) and new EPS material together right before the blockmould in the optimal way. The shapemoulding the KBM STYROMIX is available.
The KBM STYROMETER is also usefull for EPP where it can make an accurate mix of recycled and new EPP just before it enters the pre-pressurizing tank
Each silo contains one material e.g. recycled and new EPS. The speed of the cellwheels (starwheels) are adjusted steplessly by one mutual potentiometer to set the required mixing ratio. It is also possible to program a number of preset values like (5%, 10% 15% etc.) to simplify the settings. The mixing ratios are from 5 to 95%.
The cellwheel principle ensures an accurate mixing/metering independently of the pressure in the silos when they are being refilled by a blower. This is often a problem with screw-feeding systems.
The system can also be delivered for existing silos.
